LMB Bike & Trail Advocacy Day 2026

March 10, 2026 | House Office Building, Lansing, MI
Registration: $25 (includes catered Taco Bar Tuesday lunch)

Help us move cycling forward in Michigan one conversation at a time.

Join the League of Michigan Bicyclists for our annual Bicycle & Trail Advocacy Day (BTAD), where we team up to make Michigan safer and more bike-friendly. Advocacy Day is a chance for bicyclists (of all types and abilities) and advocates from all corners of Michigan to come together and meet with their state senators and representatives. And in 2026, we’re upgrading the experience and taking it indoors: most everything will take place indoors at the House Office Building’s welcoming Mackinac Room, so we’ll stay warm, comfortable, and focused on what matters: sharing our passion for better bicycling with the people who shape our laws.

Be part of a unique opportunity to converge on the State Capitol and speak with one voice to help make Michigan bicycling better. Whether you are a cyclist or not, if you are concerned about these issues, join us! The most powerful way to reach your representative and senator is to meet with them in person, as a resident of their district, and share what matters most to you. All of us can move the needle when we work together. Your voice is needed in Lansing!

New to Advocacy Day? No experience needed, we'll be there to support you every step of the way. Don’t worry about the logistics, we've got that covered too! Here's what you can expect:

  • We schedule meetings for you with your state senator and representative (or their staff).
  • We prep you with key background information before the event.
  • We provide clear, easy-to-convey talking points on our 2026 legislative priorities.
  • You’ll have time (often in small groups with fellow attendees) to share with your lawmakers why safe streets, better trails, and bicycle-friendly policies matter to you.

This event is about coming together as a community and letting lawmakers know that people across Michigan care about safe, accessible bicycling and trails and are paying attention. Whether you ride one mile or thousands, your voice makes a difference and it's needed at Advocacy Day!
